FAQ

Choosing a sauna

Should I choose an indoor or outdoor sauna?

An outdoor sauna, such as a barrel, cube or modular cabin, is a self-contained garden building. It needs a level, load-bearing base, clear delivery access and either an outdoor-rated electrical supply or a flue for a wood-burning heater. An indoor sauna sits inside an existing room, such as a garage, basement or home gym, and needs enough floor space, ceiling height, ventilation and a dedicated electrical supply. Garden buildings often fall within permitted development, but limits on height, position and use apply and rules differ across the UK, so check with your local planning authority before ordering.

How do I choose the right heater size?

Heater output is matched to the volume of the sauna room. Multiply length × width × height in metres, then add about 1.2 m³ for every square metre of glass, uninsulated stone, tile or log wall. Each manufacturer publishes a recommended room volume for every model; choose a heater whose range comfortably includes your figure. Our sauna buying guide explains this in more detail.

What is included with a sauna cabin?

Each cabin page lists what the cabin includes. Options labelled “Cabin only” or “No heater” do not include a heater, controller or sauna stones. Heater package options name the heater and anything else included, such as a controller or stones. If the description and the option you have chosen appear to disagree, please contact us before ordering and we will confirm exactly what that option includes.

Are sauna stones and controllers included with heaters?

Many heaters are sold without stones, and some without a controller. The product page states this where we hold the information. If it is not clear, ask us before ordering.

Installation

Do I need an electrician?

Yes for any hard-wired equipment. Electric sauna heaters, steam generators, controllers and sauna lighting must be installed by a qualified electrician in line with BS 7671 and the manufacturer’s instructions. Most electric heaters need their own dedicated circuit, and larger models may need a three-phase supply. In England and Wales, new circuits are notifiable building work under Part P.

What foundations does an outdoor sauna need?

Outdoor cabins need a level, well-drained, load-bearing base, such as a concrete slab, paving or ground screws, prepared to the manufacturer’s instructions for that model. A built cabin can weigh more than a tonne, so check the weight on the product page when planning the base.

Is assembly included?

No. Sauna cabins are supplied flat-packed, and assembly and installation are not included in the price. The manufacturer’s assembly and installation manuals are available on request.

Delivery

Where do you deliver?

We deliver to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, including the Scottish Highlands and Islands, and to BFPO addresses where the carrier and product allow. We do not currently deliver to the Isle of Man, Jersey or Guernsey.

How much is delivery?

The delivery charge for your order is calculated at checkout and shown before you pay. Checkout currently offers standard delivery at £4.99, free standard delivery on orders of £50 or more, and express delivery at £6.99, at the same rates across the delivery area. Some services are not available for oversized items or for some addresses. Full details are in our delivery information.

How are sauna cabins and hot tubs delivered?

Sauna cabins, hot tubs, steam room benching and other large or heavy items travel by freight or pallet service, not by parcel carrier. A cabin crate can weigh several hundred kilograms or more; for example, the AIRA and EDEN cabin crates weigh about 1,270 kg. Before ordering, please contact us so that we can confirm the delivery arrangements for your address, including vehicle access, where the crate can be unloaded and how the parts will reach your installation site.

How long will delivery take?

For parcels, the delivery estimate for your address is shown at checkout. Lead times for large items vary by product and manufacturer, so please contact us for the current lead time before ordering a cabin, hot tub or large heater. We email you when your order is dispatched.

Warranties and returns

What warranty do products have?

Warranties are provided by the manufacturer and vary by product. Where we hold the details, the product page states them. For example, the product information for Narvi heaters states a 2-year warranty in private use with 12 months on heating elements, and the outdoor cabin pages state a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty on the cabin. HUUM and Tulikivi exclude heating elements from their heater warranties. A manufacturer warranty is in addition to your statutory rights and does not replace them.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Contact us with your order number, the product and a description of the problem, with photographs if you can. We will tell you what information is needed and how the claim will be handled.

Can I return something I have changed my mind about?

Yes. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the day you receive the goods to tell us you are cancelling, and a further 14 days to send them back. Choosing a size, colour or heater package from the options offered does not make a product custom-made, so this right applies. For change-of-mind returns you pay the direct cost of returning the goods. Large items such as cabins and hot tubs need a freight collection, which can be costly, so please ask us for the estimated return cost for your item before you order. Full details are in our returns and refund policy.

What if something arrives faulty or not as described?

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply. If goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, and we pay reasonable return costs. Contact us with your order number and, if possible, a photograph of the problem.

What currency are prices in?

All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). The price shown for the option you select is the price used at checkout.
